With our world constantly changing and moving
towards being more efficient and faster, the United States
Postal Service is no exception. Lately the USPS has been streamlining
their operations to help mail move both faster and more efficiently.
The following are changes that are being made to the "Ancillary
Service Endorsements" that went into effect on July 1, 1997.
Under the new system, the endorsements changed from twelve
different types of verbage to a more simplified four. The endorsements
will consist of one keyword: "ADDRESS", "FORWARDING", "RETURN",
or "CHANGE", followed by the two words "SERVICE REQUESTED".
The endorsements are the same for all classes of mail, but
the treatment for each class and applicable charges generally
remain the same as the treatment under the current system of
endorsements.
